Hi AAPA'ers, from scary, fire-worn Southern California. And Yikes. For an endless three weeks Fern & I have been surrounded by an endless bunch of fires, popping up outta nowhere. Some caught early, some destroying entire cities. My town was lucky, we are untouched. Tho we did all get a sudden "Evacuate Now" warning notice one night. It was a mistake, sent out to all of Los Angeles County, everybody! For like 10 minutes we were all in panic mode. I'm still not over it...
But ahhh, blessed be! The January bundle is here, to transport us into the delight of a world apart. I know from experience not to heat water for tea, because it mysteriously boils away while I am here, in blessed AAPA land!
And how does so many wonderful pieces all fit into one envelope! (Thank you, dear Mailer Katherine Watt!)
And thank you S-T Ivan Snyder, for a shiny new Membership Directory, printed in big, clear, easy-to-read type, so we can all find each other! Look how widespread we all are, yet all sitting here together reading the Bundle!
And oh! Fern & I love when it's time for a new AAJ! President Tommy, your message is so deeply inspiring! Editor Clarence Wolfshohl, Fern & I loved reading about what AAPA was like 50 years ago!!
Let's read some more charming pieces... Dylan Wylde, your The Philosopher No. 3, looks like our soul-mate Ben Franklin! And thank you! How exciting for us who love to write to learn about the new, "American Skeptic"!!! And it wouldn't be our Bundle without Fred Moe's Farm & Wilderness Report, printed by the Master Printer at I. S. Press!
Mike O'Connor, your Views from Fountain Hills is so cheery, we've already read it twice! It was wonderful hearing about AAPA conventions! And! The Swiftest Press! Mike I so wanted one as a kid but didn't get to be Swiftsest Kid. I loved reading about it!
Sean Wilmut's Philamot Magazine has set the bar even higher still for imaginative, creative Bundle works, each is sure a surprise! And a surprise from George Harnish and Random Cubes: postcards! And finally, we get to enjoy Steve Ingram's Mini Zine #12, a celebration of old typewriters & of Steve's completing an intention for a whole year of wonderful pieces!
Fern & I send our very warmest gratitude to ALL who participated in the Jan. bundle, & to all of AAPA for their precious gift of audience....
So much Wonderful in one envelope!
Everybody stay well,
Marey & Fern
