Hello AAPA friends,
John Carvalho has never been to Oregon, but that is about to be remedied. On June 20th, he'll be teaching a fun papermaking class at my house in Portland, Oregon. We'll start at 2pm and following the class, we'll have a potluck picnic in the back yard by the creek, with a chance to hang out and get to know each other outside of the bundle. All AAPA members and local letterpressers are welcome for the potluck, but the class needs to be capped at about 20 so that everyone gets a chance to pull paper. This is a free event. For the allergic among you, there are 2 beehives on the property. You can RSVP to me at heatherlane44@hotmail.com. My address is on your bundle every month. We hope to see you there!
Amateur journalism is a unique activity. Amateur journalists publish journals on paper & online & come from many perspectives: from deluxe letterpress printed journals, to Xeroxed newsletters, to artistically designed cards and ephemera. We embrace the spirit of being amateurs – loving what we do for pure joy and not financial gain – while creating top quality journals, zines, and homemade publications.
